Job Overview

The Legal Officer plays a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with laws and regulations. Their primary responsibility is to provide expert legal counsel, manage litigation, draft and review legal documents, and advise on policy development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Legal Advice: Provide timely and accurate legal advice on various matters to senior management, ensuring adherence to all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Contract Management: Draft, review, and vet legal documents, including Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and standard agreements with external parties.
  • Litigation Management: Coordinate with external legal advisors and standing counsels on court matters, preparing responses to grievances and attending court when necessary.
  • Policy Development: Monitor and manage internal legal processes, update existing internal policies, and help formulate and implement new ones.
  • Grievance Resolution: Serve as a member secretary for committees, such as the Committee Against Sexual Harassment, and handle internal disputes from a legal perspective.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in law (LLB or LLM) from a recognized institution with Bar Council of India registration.
  • Possess a minimum of six years of experience as an advocate or working in the legal department of an organization, preferably in the education sector, demonstrating hands-on application of legal knowledge.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical, negotiation, and drafting skills, along with excellent oral and written communication abilities. Knowledge of Telugu is mandatory.
