Engineering Manager Role

As an Engineering Manager at Flipkart, you will lead a team of engineers in realizing the company's vision. Your role will involve setting the direction and long-term vision for the team, partnering with product, business, and other stakeholders to achieve this vision. The team will work on a variety of products and platforms that power Flipkart.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership to major projects and build and manage a team of top-notch engineers.
  • Optimize your own code and ensure engineers can optimize theirs.
  • Manage business goals, contribute to product strategy, and help develop the team.
  • Create clear career paths for team members and provide regular mentoring.
  • Perform regular performance evaluations and share feedback.
  • Work closely with Product Management, Business Development, and Operations teams to provide scalable and high-quality technology solutions.
  • Set up best practices for development and champion their adoption.
  • Architect and design technically robust, flexible, and scalable solutions.
  • Work with designers, business analysts, and product managers to estimate and plan projects in an Agile environment.

Requirements:

  • Excellent leadership skills to mentor engineers.
  • Deep understanding of technologies and architecture in a highly scalable and available setup.
  • Deep understanding and expertise with highly transactional, large relational, and complex systems.
  • Strong object-oriented design skills and ability to design intuitive module and class-level interfaces.
  • Superior project management skills to manage multi-engineer projects and experience delivering high-quality projects on time.
  • Above 10 years of experience with technology depth and good people skills.
  • A BE/BTech in Computer Science or equivalent academic background.
