Network Systems Engineer

Job Description:

  • Oversee all network activities at data centers and disaster recovery sites, including installations, upgrades, migrations, incident response, performance tuning, reporting, and patching.
  • Have in-depth knowledge of switching, routing, and network equipment.
  • Experience working with Leaf & Spine Architecture in Data Centre environments.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools, including Cisco IOS, PRTG, NetFlow, etc.
  • Manage large-scale data center networks.
  • Implement configuration changes for switches and routers as required, and perform periodic backups of configurations.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Layer 2 protocols, such as VLANs, Private VLANs, VTP, STP, DTP, Trunking, Stacking, Ethernet channel, DOT1Q, ISL, SVI, etc.
  • Set up and troubleshoot IPSEC tunnels between locations.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Layer 3 protocols, including BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, Static Routing, High Availability Protocols (HSRP, VRRP, GLBP), Floating Static Routing, Failover, etc.
  • Provide support for IPv4, IPv6, NTP, ACLs, Route-map, Prefix-Lists, PBR, AAA, TACAS, RADIUS, CEF, IPv6 CEF, SLA, TRACK, SNMP, EEM, Syslog, Flow-export, RADIO, EVPN-VXLAN.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Network Load Balancers, Datacentre core switching and routing upgrades and maintenance.
  • Manage router access control.
  • Perform fault management of routers and switches.
  • Take corrective actions to resolve faults and ensure high network uptime.
  • Troubleshoot and debug problems.
  • Deploy monitoring tools to identify problem areas and rectify issues promptly.
  • Periodically fine-tune the network to ensure optimal availability.
  • Regularly check the proper functioning of the network and its assets.
  • Familiarity with EMS tools.
  • Incident, Change and Configuration Management, IOS Upgradation, change request management.
  • Investigate network issues at DR sites in collaboration with DR team members.

This role requires a deep understanding of network systems and protocols, with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will have experience working in data centre environments and be proficient in a range of networking technologies.
