Senior CAD Designer – Thermoformed Railway Interior Panels

We are a leading thermoforming company in Europe, delivering innovative solutions for transportation industries.

  • Develop interior thermoformed panels for trains using SolidWorks.
  • Translate customer rough concepts and specifications into production-ready 3D and 2D designs.

This role requires deep engineering understanding, strong customer communication, and the ability to deliver manufacturable, cost-optimized solutions while minimizing changes to tooling.

About This Opportunity

This senior-level position involves collaborating with global OEMs to develop thermoformed interior components for the railway industry.

You will need to work closely with clients to ensure that your designs meet technical feasibility, cost efficiency, and manufacturability requirements.

  • Analyze project specifications to create 3D and 2D designs for interior panels.
  • Design panel configurations to accommodate different train widths.
  • Engineer the rear side construction of panels, including reinforcements, ventilation solutions, and mounting details.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • 5+ years of experience in CAD design for thermoformed plastic components.
  • SolidWorks expertise, specifically surface modeling, assemblies, and tool-related adjustments.
  • A strong background in railway, automotive, or transportation interiors.
  • Knowledge of plastics material properties, tooling, and production processes.
Your Skills and Abilities

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and the ability to translate conceptual sketches into manufacturable designs.

You should also be able to work independently, with a structured approach, and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
