Job Description

Lead Securities Operations Specialist

As a Lead Securities Operations Specialist, you will oversee and lead a team of specialists in transactional tasks to ensure quality and compliance in securities operations.

You will serve as the first point of contact for all delivery tasks and escalations, identifying opportunities for process improvement and risk control development, and ensuring the team consistently meets delivery expectations.

Additionally, you will resolve issues related to reporting, career path, and related activities for direct reports, collaborate and influence all levels of professionals, including more experienced managers, and lead the team to achieve objectives.

  • Manage a team of specialists in transactional tasks ensuring quality and compliance in securities operations
  • Provide support for being a first point of contact for all delivery tasks and escalations
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and risk control development
  • Ensure team consistently meets delivery expectations and resolve issues related to reporting, career path and related activities for direct reports
  • Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers
  • Lead team to achieve objectives
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for securities operations

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership & Oversight
  • Lead a team of analysts and specialists responsible for income collection and entitlement processing.
  • Set clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback and coaching.
  • Ensure team members understand their roles in the broader asset servicing lifecycle.
  1. Performance Management
  • Conduct performance reviews and development planning.
  • Identify skill gaps and provide training or mentoring opportunities.
  • Recognize and reward high performance while addressing underperformance constructively.
  1. Workforce Planning
  • Allocate resources effectively to meet operational demands and deadlines.
  • Manage staffing levels, including hiring, onboarding, and succession planning.
  1. Operational Excellence
  • Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
  • Encourage proactive issue resolution and escalation of risks or delays.
  • Monitor KPIs and service level agreements to ensure team efficiency.
  1. Communication & Collaboration
  • Act as a liaison between the team and senior management, middle office, and client service teams.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Promote transparency and open communication within the team.
  1. Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure team adherence to internal controls, compliance policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead audits and reviews related to income servicing processes.
  • Promote a strong risk culture and ethical standards.
  1. Change Management
  • Guide the team through process changes, system upgrades, and organizational shifts.
  • Champion automation and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Manage resistance and build engagement during transitions.
