About the Job

Our team seeks an Optimization Specialist with a deep understanding of classical optimization methods and advanced heuristic techniques.

  • We are looking for someone who can formulate and solve various optimization problems, including linear programming, mixed-integer linear programming, and scheduling.
  • The ideal candidate will be proficient in applying innovative algorithms, such as genetic algorithms, simulated annealing, and particle swarm optimization, to achieve optimal solutions.

This role is crucial in driving operational efficiency and strategic decision-making through the application of sophisticated mathematical and statistical techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and model optimization problems across different business units, focusing on linear programming, mixed-integer linear programming, combinatorial optimization, and scheduling.
  • Design and implement robust optimization algorithms, including both classical methods and advanced heuristic techniques.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate solvers for specific problems, customizing and extending as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Deep understanding of a wide range of optimization theories and methods, including linear programming, mixed-integer linear programming, combinatorial optimization, scheduling, and heuristic algorithms.
  • Proficient in optimization modeling languages and tools, such as Python with PuLP or Pyomo.
  • Demonstrable experience with both non-commercial and commercial optimization solvers.
  • Strong statistical analysis skills, with proficiency in tools such as Python.
