Medical Coding Specialist Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Coding Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will have the chance to make a real impact.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review medical records and assign accurate codes for Radiology, Surgery, and Emergency Department encounters.
  • Code for both Facility and Professional components, ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines and regulations.
  • Apply modifiers, place of service codes, and adhere to NCCI edits, as well as maintain coding quality and accuracy standards.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance teams and respond to audits, queries, or coding clarifications.
  • Meet or exceed productivity and accuracy standards, staying current on payer policies, CCI edits, and CPT/ICD updates.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Life Sciences or Allied Health graduate.
  • Certifications (Mandatory): AAPC or AHIMA certified CPC, COC, or CCS.
  • Experience:
  • 3-6 years of coding experience in Radiology, Surgery, and Emergency Department settings.
  • Essential experience in both Facility & Profee coding.
Key Skills Required:
  • Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT-4, HCPCS, and coding guidelines.
  • Solid experience with modifier usage, global periods, and split/shared visits.
  • Familiarity with encoder tools and EMRs such as Epic, Cerner, Athena, or Meditech.
  • Excellent written communication and documentation skills.
