Data Modeler

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Data Modeler to work remotely on designing, governing, and implementing conceptual, logical, and physical data models across modern cloud platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with SQL Data Warehouses, Databricks Delta Lakehouse, and other MPP databases, combined with domain knowledge across Customer, Sales, Finance, Supplier, and Manufacturing.

The successful candidate will independently design and deliver conceptual, logical, and physical data models for cloud and on-premises platforms (SQL Data Warehouse, Databricks Delta Lakehouse, Spark, etc.). They will also govern data design and modelling by documenting metadata, business definitions, and constructing database objects for enterprise and investment projects.

Key responsibilities include building a deep understanding of enterprise business domains (Customer, Sales, Finance, Supplier, Technology Inventory) to create scalable and reusable data solutions. The Data Modeler will lead collaborative reviews of data model design, security, and code to ensure alignment with data product development.

They will demonstrate expertise across multiple data paradigms: low-latency, relational, analytical, unstructured data lakes, and SAP data models. Additionally, they will develop reusable, cloud-centric data models and support data mapping and integration efforts.

The Data Modeler will partner with data stewards to support data discovery, governance, and business stakeholder engagement. They will provide data analysis, requirements gathering, solution development, and design reviews for new and enhanced applications.

Other key responsibilities include assisting with data sourcing, profiling, planning, and transformation activities. They will also support data lineage mapping and creation of Source-to-Target Mappings (STTM) for ETL and BI developers.
