Innovative Product Designer

As a design engineer, you will be responsible for contributing to the development and implementation of innovative product designs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design Creation: Utilize Solidworks CAD software to model and draft products, perform design calculations, conduct tolerance stack-up analysis, apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), release engineering change notifications (ECRN), verify/correct production bills of materials (BOMs), and benchmark/review/validate/evaluate (RE/VA/VE) product designs under supervision.
  • Testing Support: Assist in testing and test setup activities.
  • Design Review: Conduct design reviews with cross-functional teams or suppliers to optimize product designs based on feedback.
  • Document Preparation: Prepare and submit 2D drawings and 3D models.
  • Productivity Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for productivity improvement, cost reduction, and return on investment (ROI) through process management systems (PMS).
  • Problem Resolution: Resolve field issues based on product knowledge using problem-solving methodologies such as 8D.
  • Task Assignment: Perform task assignments in various factory management systems (FMS) and PMS.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Solidworks CAD software and its applications.
  • Ability to conduct design calculations and perform tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
  • Experience with engineering change notifications (ECRN) and bill of materials (BOM) verification/correction.
  • Knowledge of benchmarking, review, validation, evaluation (RE/VA/VE) processes.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
