The Power Electrical Engineer position plays a crucial role in our team, working closely with colleagues and the purchasing department to design and implement efficient DC power supply solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze customer specifications to establish deviation lists between standard solutions and customized requests.
  • Consider local regulations and specific requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Design and specify electrical philosophies that meet safety and efficiency standards.
  • Develop high-voltage transformer designs and specifications.
  • Create detailed designs for power electronics systems, including rectifiers, DC-DC converters, inverters, and choppers.
  • Determine cooling requirements for power electronics.
  • Manage electrical protections and define earthing and grounding solutions.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure technical discussions and comparisons of offers.
  • Develop engineering processes and templates for the team.
  • Stay up-to-date with technological advancements and sector trends.

Education and Experience

  • A bachelor's degree in power electronics or electrical engineering is required.
  • Minimum 15-18 years of experience in an industrial environment.
  • Prior experience in the Oil&Gas or Energy sector is an asset.
  • Familiarity with instrumentation and automation principles.
  • Knowledge of software like ETAP is beneficial.
  • A strong understanding of electrical standards, including IEC, NEC, Functional Safety, Electromagnetic Compatibility, Explosive Atmosphere, and API.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Fluency in English and French.
