Data Protection and Compliance Role

At Gentrack, we are committed to ensuring that all our customers' data is protected and that our work complies with data protection legislation. This involves managing our policies and procedures to ensure compliance with global laws and regulations. As a Data Protection and Compliance Specialist, you will work closely with the Data Protection Officer and the InfoSec team to implement our data protection programme roadmap within the organisation. Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with data protection laws and regulations, working with different functions to identify data protection risks and implementing appropriate mitigating controls, and conducting privacy impact assessments to assess the impact of new projects or initiatives on personal information. You will also be responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of changes in global data protection regulations and ensuring policies and procedures are revised accordingly. In addition, you will develop and deliver a data protection training and awareness plan for all business functions based on roles and relevant external third parties. This is a key role in ensuring that Gentrack remains compliant with data protection legislation and that our customers' data is protected.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with data protection laws and regulations. * Work with different functions to identify data protection risks and implement appropriate mitigating controls. * Conduct privacy impact assessments to assess the impact of new projects or initiatives on personal information. * Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in global data protection regulations and ensure policies and procedures are revised accordingly. * Develop and deliver a data protection training and awareness plan for all business functions based on roles and relevant external third parties. * Implement and maintain a privacy tool to ensure compliance across the organisation. * Create an online repository of all data protection related policies, documents, practices of the organisation that can later be used as a self-service portal by business, sales, marketing teams as well as customers. * Assessing sub-processors from a data protection point of view and ensuring proper documentation such as DPAs are entered into. * Bring the organisation up to speed for privacy certifications such as ISO 27701, ISO 31700.

Requirements

* Minimum 3 years' experience working in the data protection / privacy space. * Expertise in EU data protection laws and practices (such as laws of Australia, New Zealand, India, Singapore) and more specifically an in-depth understanding of the GDPR. * Experience within a legal, audit, InfoSec, and/or risk function department. * Strong project management skills. * One or more data protection qualifications such as CIPP/E, CIPP/M etc. * Work experience in Information Security, ISO270001, SOC2.
