Project Lead: Building Structures

This role is a key part of our project delivery team. As Project Lead, you will work closely with senior engineers and project managers to ensure the successful execution of projects.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare feasibility study reports in accordance with agreed formats and review them with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the project team to develop design specifications that meet client requirements, agree on format and content, and monitor their preparation to ensure timely delivery.
  • Work with the team to define building requirements and purpose of use, allowing for detailed design.
  • Conduct detailed design to industry standards, ensuring quality assurance and technical review, and sign off by relevant stakeholders.
  • Review and monitor the production of calculations, including quality assurance and technical reviews, and sign off.
  • Ensure accurate information for project costing preparation and deadlines, keeping the project team informed about design progress through explanation of design decisions.
  • Provide documentary information via the project team to assist in tender document preparation, ensuring accurate and timely completion, and keeping the project team informed regarding design progress.
  • Coordinate project contracts documents (drawings and specifications) and review input from team members.
  • Address day-to-day queries from the project team, ensuring relevant information is available on time for construction activities.
  • Report any variances between constructed works and design intent to the project team in association with stakeholders.
  • Project manage commissions from the project team using applicable project management tools.
  • Lead the design process, encouraging the team to deliver appropriate and cost-effective solutions within the agreed program.
  • Fully follow document control, archiving quality assurance processes relevant to project work, ensuring drawings, specifications, reports, and correspondence are issued and filed appropriately, coaching junior staff in usage.
  • Enhance technical competence within the teams, implementing delivery and quality measurement processes, promoting technical excellence in all projects, undertaking technical reviews, contributing to concept design, and providing continuous feedback to improve protocols and processes.
  • Develop positive professional relationships with the project team, communicating openly about project progress, participating in team meetings, disseminating information, and communicating with other teams.
  • Identify and act on or refer potential risk issues, following commercial and contracting processes, managing delegated tasks to meet deadlines, flagging resourcing concerns to the team leader, identifying additional fees/scope, and agreeing with stakeholders.
  • Accurately complete timesheets ahead of weekly deadlines.
