Hardware Design Engineer Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Hardware Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of the engineering department, you will be responsible for driving the hardware architecture and component selection/decision for next generation automotive audio systems.

Your primary focus will be on designing and developing electronic components and systems that power car audio systems, ensuring high-quality sound and seamless integration with vehicle technology.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive HW architecture and component selection/decision for next generation automotive audio systems
  • Select and recommend next generation semiconductor solutions for automotive audio
  • Design and develop electronic components and systems that power car audio systems, ensuring high-quality sound and seamless integration with vehicle technology
  • Work closely with vehicle Architecture/system Design, safety engineer & Buyer/purchasing to ensure chosen components meet performance, reliability, and cost requirements
  • Recommend and propose the right electronic audio components, including Audio amplifiers, Microphone interface/Audio ADC, Audio DSP, Audio power circuitry/PMIC, Speaker interface, Digital audio interfaces (A2B, Ethernet, etc)
  • Develop working knowledge on ANC (Active noise cancellation) and RNC (Road noise cancellation) design
  • Stay familiar with relevant automotive safety and quality standards, such as ISO 26262 and AEC-Q100
  • Collaborate with silicon vendor partners to drive design features and technology road map
  • Support HW Engineering group during advanced design phases, system architecture definitions and ECU development / Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • B.E/B.Tech or M.E/M.Tech in Electrical/Electronics, Telecommunication, or equivalent Engineering degree
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in automotive embedded electronics designs or hardware/system architectural role
  • Knowledge of In-vehicle infotainment system, Audio system, Automotive vehicle connectivity systems and ECU design, development, and testing
  • Experience in Automotive ECU design, Audio standards, automotive testing and certification
  • Strong teamwork spirit, excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in automotive area (OEM, TIER1, TIER2)
  • Experience in In-vehicle infotainment system, Audio system, Automotive vehicle connectivity systems and ECU design
  • Understanding and knowledge of Board software/Bring up software, Audio DSP and MCUs
  • Knowledge of safety standards including ISO 26262, Euro NAP, and Security regulations would be a plus
