Software Development Lead

You will be responsible for developing cutting-edge software solutions based on customer business goals, needs, and the overall business environment.

This role is within a team that combines customer support with software development. You will investigate challenging customer issues, perform in-depth analysis of the product code base to identify root causes, and assist in resolving issues.

The team develops software changes across all products, focusing on improving supportability. You will also develop tools for direct delivery to customers to assist with their usage of the products.

You must demonstrate skills and interest in both software development and customer issue resolution.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Be a key part of the full product development lifecycle of software applications
  • Investigate and resolve complex customer issues; maintain high customer satisfaction
  • Work independently with moderate guidance from engineering management
  • Design, implement, and unit test changes to products including enhancements, defect fixes, and/or configuration adjustments
  • Mentor other engineers, including design collaboration and code reviews
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or Computer Science
  • 10+ years of commercial experience in software development using Java, including object-oriented design concepts for delivering and maintaining software products
  • Experience in designing and implementing highly scalable web applications and backend systems
  • Technical understanding of SQL, Hibernate, XML, and JSON
  • Knowledge of SOA concepts
  • Technical understanding of Web Services technologies including REST, SOAP, and WSDL
  • Demonstrated comfort with videoconferencing systems
  • Strong reading, writing, and oral communication skills
