Azure Administrator Job Description

The role of an Azure Administrator is a critical position in the IT industry, responsible for managing and monitoring the operations and infrastructure of Azure cloud platforms.

To excel in this role, one requires expertise with version control systems such as Git and Azure DevOps, as well as a deep understanding of Azure core services including Compute, Storage, Network, and Security. Expert-level experience with additional Azure services like Virtual Desktop, Logic Apps, Analytics, etc., is also necessary.

In addition to technical skills, Azure Administrators must have a vast understanding of technologies like DNS, Microsoft Windows Server, and Active Directory.

Responsibilities
  • Cloud Environment Management: Managing, monitoring, and resolving issues in the Azure cloud environment.
  • Cloud Solutions Design: Designing and implementing Azure cloud solutions to meet the needs of clients.
  • System Maintenance: Performing routine checks and maintaining the system to ensure security and data integrity.
  • Resource Optimization: Optimising cloud resources to deliver cost-effective solutions.
  • Compliance: Ensuring compliance with industry and company standards.
  • User Support: Providing technical support and training to users to increase system performance and value.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborating with teams to integrate cloud services with existing systems.
  • Disaster Recovery: Developing and implementing disaster recovery plans and data backups.
  • Documentation: Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for cloud processes and services.
  • Vendor Coordination: Working closely with L2 and L1 teams along with vendor support coordination.
  • Industry Trends: Staying updated with industry trends and advancements in cloud technology.
