Software Engineer - Performance and Security

This is our process for hiring software engineers who specialize in performance and security. We're looking for individuals with a passion for building high-quality systems that can handle complex tasks efficiently.

We prefer candidates who have experience designing and implementing software in Go, as well as a strong understanding of Linux at the system level. Our teams work on various projects, including software distribution systems, systems management tools, and distributed systems operations R&D.

As a member of our engineering team, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing software solutions that meet the needs of our users. You'll also participate in code reviews, collaborate with colleagues on technical specifications, and seek improvements to engineering and operations practices.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement well-tested and documented software in Go
  • Debug and fix issues encountered by your users
  • Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions
  • Collaborate with colleagues on technical specifications
  • Seek improvements to engineering and operations practices
  • In some cases, deploy and operate services developed by the team
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Exceptional academic track record from high school and university
  • Drive and a track record of going above-and-beyond expectations
  • Well-organized, self-starting, and able to deliver to schedule
  • Professional manner interacting with colleagues and community
  • Experience designing and writing high-quality software in Go on Linux
  • Experience with and passion for Linux at the system level
  • For more senior roles, experience building, deploying, and operating distributed systems and APIs
