3rd Line Network Engineer Role

The 3rd Line Network Engineer is a critical role that involves owning and managing support tickets for existing customer services.

  • This individual will provide regular communication with customers, offer 3rd line support, and take ownership of support tickets for incidents, changes, and service requests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Communication: Regular communication verbally and written with existing customers to ensure their needs are met.
  • Support: Provide 3rd Line support for incoming customer support queries and escalations from the 2nd Line Service Desk.
  • Ticket Management: Take ownership and effectively manage support tickets for incidents, change, and service requests.
  • Projects: Plan and complete projects as assigned by senior staff members.
  • Documentation: Document customer solutions in CMDB, Visio documentation, and technical summary write-ups.
  • DR/Failover Testing: Conduct DR and failover testing to ensure business continuity.
  • Mentoring: Provide support and mentoring to 2nd Line engineers to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Resource Provisioning: Provide resources to the solution delivery team to support the configuration and implementation of new customer projects.
  • On-call Rota: Participate in an on-call rota out of hours for high-priority incidents.

  • Switching: Cisco, Meraki, Aruba, HP, Dell, Juniper switching technologies.
  • Wireless: Cisco, Meraki, Aruba wireless technologies.
  • Security: Palo Alto, Prisma, Fortinet, Cisco ASA security solutions.
  • SD-WAN: Citrix, Viptela, Meraki, Fortinet, Nuage SD-WAN technologies.
  • Cisco NAC ISE, SD-A/DNAC, DOT1x solutions.
  • Cisco Nexus 7xxx, 5xxx, 2xxx series switches.
