About the Role

WAL+L is seeking a highly skilled Master Architect and Project Management Leader to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing all phases of project management, from initial concept through to design, procurement, construction, and handover.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Project Management
  • We are looking for a candidate with excellent leadership skills to oversee all aspects of project management, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing project schedules, budgets, and resources, as well as coordinating and leading project teams.
  • This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to ensure effective collaboration with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants.
  • A proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects is essential, as well as experience in a leadership role managing teams and clients in the architecture or construction industry.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction processes, budgets, schedules, and contract management, as well as knowledge of current building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  1. Client Liaison
  • We are looking for a candidate who can act as the main point of contact for clients, maintaining strong professional relationships and ensuring their expectations are met.
  • The successful candidate will provide clients with regular updates on project progress, milestones, and deliverables, as well as lead client meetings and present design concepts.
  • This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  1. Design Oversight
  • We are seeking a candidate who can lead the architectural design process, ensuring that designs meet client requirements, aesthetic preferences, and functionality needs.
  • The successful candidate will collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to integrate all aspects of design (structural, MEP, interior, landscape).
  • This role requires a strong understanding of architectural concepts, construction methods, and materials, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.
  1. Quality Assurance
  • We are looking for a candidate who can ensure that architectural work adheres to the highest standards of quality, safety, and sustainability.
  • The successful candidate will conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, address issues, and ensure the project aligns with the design vision.
  • This role requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail to identify potential project challenges and develop mitigation strategies.
  1. Team Leadership & Mentorship
  • We are seeking a candidate who can provide leadership and guidance to junior architects and project team members.
  • The successful candidate will foster a collaborative and innovative environment within the team, as well as support professional development and ensure the team maintains technical expertise through training.
  1. Financial & Resource Management
  • We are looking for a candidate who can manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective solutions are implemented throughout the project lifecycle.
  • The successful candidate will review invoices, track payments, and ensure that project finances are in order.
  • This role requires strong organizational and problem-solving skills to optimize the allocation of resources and ensure that materials and labor are utilized efficiently.
  1. Regulatory & Compliance
  • We are seeking a candidate who can ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including safety, accessibility, and environmental laws.
  • The successful candidate will prepare and submit necessary permits and documents required for project approval, as well as coordinate inspections and approvals with relevant authorities.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • We require a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Professional Licensing:
  • Professional licensing (e.g., AIA, LEED) is preferred but not required.
  • Experience:
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in architectural design and project management, with a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects.
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency in architectural design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, etc.).
  • Certifications:
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred but not required.

Work Environment:

  • Office-based with occasional site visits as required.

Compensation:

  • We offer a competitive salary based on experience, estimated at $120,000-$180,000 per annum.
