Genomics Research Internship Opportunity

This internship provides hands-on experience in designing and prototyping computational workflows for analyzing genomic datasets and generating pilot research outputs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for curating and prioritizing genetic variants, building small-scale pipelines for processing sequencing/genotyping data, and developing basic trait-related scoring methods in a research-only context.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Curate and prioritize genetic variants from public resources.
  • Build small-scale pipelines for processing sequencing/genotyping data.
  • Develop basic trait-related scoring methods (polygenic indices, QC metrics) in a research-only context.
Requirements:
  • Current undergraduate/postgraduate student in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Human Genetics, Biomedical Engineering, Data Science, or related fields.
  • Familiarity with genome databases (Ensembl, NCBI Gene/ClinVar/dbSNP).
  • Comfort with Python/R, Linux command line, and version control (Git).
  • Basic understanding of GWAS concepts and population genetics.
  • Strong interest in applying data science methods to genomics research.
