Job Opportunity: Research Microbiologist

About the Role:

• We are seeking a highly skilled Research Microbiologist to join our team.
• This role involves performing environmental monitoring, sampling, and testing of purified water and raw water.
• The ideal candidate will have a strong background in microbiology and relevant industry experience.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct environmental monitoring of classified areas (air, surfaces, and personnel) to ensure aseptic conditions.
2. Perform Microbial Limit tests, BET, Sterility testing etc of water, API's and KSM's.
3. Support cleaning validation by performing swab/rinse microbiological analysis.
4. Participate in qualification of controlled areas, equipment, and utilities (HVAC, water systems, compressed air).
5. Prepare and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), protocols, and reports.
6. Maintain accurate microbiological records as per GMP and data integrity requirements.
7. Support regulatory inspections and customer audits and respond to microbiology-related queries.
8. Participate in out-of-specification (OOS) or out-of-trend (OOT) investigations related to microbial results.
9. Perform root cause analysis and propose corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
10. Conduct microbiological risk assessments of processes and systems.
11. Maintain microbial culture collection and reference strains.
12. Ensure calibration and qualification of lab instruments (incubators, autoclaves, laminar airflows, microscopes).
13. Train production and quality staff on microbiological hygiene and aseptic practices.
14. Contribute to continuous improvement of contamination control strategies.
15. Stay updated with pharmacopeia changes, ICH guidelines, and regulatory expectations.

Requirements:

• M.Sc/B.Sc. in Microbiology, Biotechnology or any Life sciences domain.
• 2 to 4 years experience in API/Pharmaceutical industry
