About the Role:

As a strategic technical leader, the successful candidate will oversee the design, development, and implementation of scalable infrastructure solutions.

This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure efficiency and reliability in platform operations.

The Lead Platform Engineer will be responsible for driving automation efforts, improving deployment processes, and managing infrastructure management.

They will work closely with DevOps teams to establish CI/CD pipelines and ensure best practices in software delivery.

A strong understanding of platform architecture, design principles, and experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is essential.

Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.) and monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Dynatrace) is also required.

The ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical teams.

Experience in Agile and DevOps methodologies is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive automation efforts to improve deployment processes and infrastructure management
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to establish CI/CD pipelines
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and proactively address potential bottlenecks
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and teams
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance platform capabilities
  • Ensure security best practices are integrated into the development and deployment processes
  • Conduct regular reviews with stakeholders to align on technology roadmap and progress

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Platform Engineer or similar role
  • Strong understanding of platform architecture and design principles
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
  • Monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Dynatrace)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and effective communication
