Role Description
The primary functions of the Risk Specialist will involve reporting, data analysis, infrastructure development, testing, and ad-hoc project work. This is an excellent opportunity for an intellectually curious and motivated individual to learn about various hedge fund and private credit investment strategies and risk management in a hands-on, collaborative team at a world-class investment firm.
As a Risk Specialist, you will review sensitivities/risk measures as part of our overnight risk calculation processes, identify and troubleshoot outliers and missing values, prepare data and analysis for the Risk team, and test new analytics and reports for data quality and accuracy.
You will also leverage Python/SQL while working on projects involving research and data analysis in support of risk management and front office functions. Additionally, you will support the broader risk team with preparing quarterly regulatory reports and take the lead in automating the process.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need strong written and verbal communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a willingness to participate and help in all tasks. Intellectually curious and driven individuals with a passion for financial markets and investment management are encouraged to apply.
You should have fluency in Excel, SQL, VBA, and Python, with experience in risk management and quantitative disciplines. An undergrad degree in a quantitative discipline with a strong interest in finance or a non-quantitative discipline with CFA/FRM certification is preferred.
