Job Role:

The Industrial Relations Manager is a pivotal position in ensuring harmonious labor relations and compliance with labor laws.

This professional will be responsible for managing labor relations, negotiating with trade unions, and addressing grievances to prevent disputes and maintain a positive work environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) with labor unions, ensuring alignment with company policies and minimizing disruptions to production.
  • Handle union demands, disputes, and wage negotiations in collaboration with senior management, applying expertise in labor laws and negotiation skills to achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with labor laws, conducting periodic legal audits and implementing policies to mitigate legal risks in labor matters.
  • Establish an effective grievance redressal mechanism for workers and staff, addressing misconduct cases, disciplinary inquiries, and disputes in a fair and timely manner.
  • Represent the organization in labor courts, industrial tribunals, and legal proceedings related to IR issues, working closely with legal counsel to prepare and defend cases involving disputes, wrongful termination, and wage claims.
  • Maintain detailed records of court cases, arbitrations, settlements, and disciplinary actions, collaborating with external consultants and legal teams as needed to handle complex labor issues.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Labor Law, or related fields.
  • 10+ years of experience in IR, union negotiations, and labor law compliance in a manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment.
  • Strong experience in handling labor unions, collective bargaining, and legal disputes, with expertise in labor laws, compliance, and disciplinary proceedings.
  • Hands-on experience in handling labor court cases, disputes, and arbitration, with excellent negotiation, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management skills.
