Job Overview

As a credit underwriter, you will play a pivotal role in evaluating and managing loan applications, ensuring the portfolio meets business growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate complex loan proposals, making informed decisions or recommending approval to higher authorities.
  • Develop underwriting guidelines according to established policies and procedures, guaranteeing adherence to service level agreements and managing business volumes effectively.
  • Conduct personal discussions with customers to assess credit worthiness and ensure completion of necessary documents and verification processes.
  • Assess income to obligation ratios, demonstrating in-depth knowledge of calculations and their impact on loan performance during tenure.
  • Maintain Portfolio Management Information Systems (MIS), Delinquency MIS, and other operational MIS for the cluster, providing regular reports.
  • Build and facilitate effective relationships with third parties to drive client outcomes.
  • Take ownership of client queries, utilizing industry knowledge and experience to overcome challenges and solve problems.
  • Exceed service quality standards and strive for continuous process improvement.
  • Undertake critical reviews of credit proposals, identifying industry, business, financial, management, and facility structure risks.
  • Ensure collateral and credit risk mitigation to facilitate approving authority decisions.
  • Enable quick turnaround times for credit lending proposals through close liaison with sales teams.
  • Undertake ongoing review of credit exposures to ensure continued bankability.
  • Facilitate critical review and documentation of proposals, effectively monitoring client and collateral creditworthiness from pre-sanction to post-disbursement phases.
Requirements

A Post Graduate/Graduate in any discipline with strong analytical skills and expertise in credit underwriting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building and maintaining effective relationships with clients and stakeholders.
