Job Title: Senior Mainframe Developer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mainframe Developer with strong expertise in mainframe application development, maintenance, and support. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of COBOL, JCL, DB2, and SORT utilities, along with hands-on experience in designing, coding, testing, and deploying mainframe-based applications.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain complex mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and SORT utilities.
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into high-quality technical solutions.
  • Perform coding, unit testing, debugging, and performance tuning for mainframe applications.
  • Work with Stored Procedures and IMS DB (desired) for database operations and integration.
  • Utilize tools such as Endevor, Changeman, Xpediter, and SPUFI for version control, debugging, and database access.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (business analysts, testers, and other developers) to deliver solutions on time.
  • Participate in code reviews, peer reviews, and defect resolution to ensure application quality and compliance.
  • Provide production support for incident management, root cause analysis, and issue resolution.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including system design, specifications, and deployment procedures.
  • Work in an Agile/Waterfall delivery model, contributing to planning, estimation, and retrospectives.

    • SORT utilities
  • Proficiency in Mainframe debugging, performance tuning, and production support.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
