The Cloud Managed Services Engineer (L3) is a high-level engineering position responsible for providing proactive managed services to clients. The primary objective of this role is to ensure zero missed service level agreement (SLA) conditions.
This position requires managing tickets of high complexity, conducting advanced and complicated tasks, and resolving complex problems. The ideal candidate will use considerable judgment and independent analysis within defined policies and practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensures assigned infrastructure at client sites is configured, installed, tested, and operational.
- Performs necessary checks, applies monitoring tools, and responds to alerts.
- Identifies problems and errors prior to or when they occur and logs incidents in a timely manner with required detail.
- Assists in analyzing, assigning, and escalating support calls.
- Investigates third-line support calls assigned and identifies the root cause of incidents and problems.
- Reports and escalates issues to 3rd party vendors as necessary.
- Provides onsite technical support to clients and field engineering services.
- Conducts monthly reviews of incidents and service requests, analyzes, and recommends improvements in quality.
- Provides continuous feedback to clients and affected parties and updates systems and portals as prescribed.
- Proactively identifies opportunities for work optimization, including automation opportunities.
- May manage and implement projects within technology domains, delivering effectively and promptly per client requirements and timelines.
- May work on implementing and delivering Disaster Recovery functions and tests.
- Performs any other related tasks as required.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology/Computing or equivalent experience. Relevant certifications such as VMware, Microsoft Azure, AWS, Veeam, Rubrik, Zerto, pure, vxrail, Google Cloud Platform, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure are highly valued.
Seasoned work experience in Engineering within a medium to large ICT organization is essential. Experience working with vendors and/or 3rd parties, ITIL processes, and managed services is also required.
A strong working knowledge of platforms including Windows Server Administration, Linux Server Administration, Virtualization Administration, Server Hardware, and Storage Administration is necessary.
