We're looking for a Senior Wireless Features Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our wireless access point software team, you will be responsible for architecting and implementing systems that help establish Cisco Wireless APs as viable and fully capable IoT gateways.

As a Senior Wireless Features Engineer, you will work closely with other team members and cross-functional teams to design, implement, and qualify solutions. You will be responsible for crafting and implementing secure and efficient authentication mechanisms, integrating drivers to add support for established protocols and systems, and establishing reporting systems that provide customers with valuable insights into their networks and clients.

We're looking for someone with 10+ years of experience in computer science or a related field, with a strong background in C and C++ programming. You should have experience working with wireless protocols, such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Zigbee, and a working knowledge of core network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and ARP.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect and implement systems that help establish Cisco Wireless APs as viable and fully capable IoT gateways
  • Craft and implement secure and efficient authentication mechanisms
  • Integrate drivers to add support for established protocols and systems
  • Establish reporting systems that provide customers with valuable insights into their networks and clients

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in computer science or a related field
  • Strong background in C and C++ programming
  • Experience working with wireless protocols, such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Zigbee
  • Working knowledge of core network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and ARP

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience building cloud-based infrastructure and services
  • Scripting skills in Ruby or Python
  • Deep understanding of wireless protocols and network security fundamentals
  • Experience working with version control, specifically Git
