Job Overview

We are seeking an exceptional software engineer to join our team. As a key member, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex packet forwarding features in various domains such as L2 Forwarding, EVPN, VXLAN, MC-LAG, IPv4/IPv6/MPLS/VPLS, etc.


Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Scope, develop, execute, and automate complex features in the mentioned areas.
  • Market Requirements: Review Market Requirements Document, Product Description Document, and Functional Specification for his/her as well as for other team members' features.
  • Beta Support: Support Beta teams during Beta adoption of features and supporting beta issues.
  • Feature Deployment: Work with Product Manager in identifying feature deployment scenarios for a new release for different customers and expand that knowledge to other test Engineers.
  • Critical Queries: Handing critical and complex customer queries/escalations.
  • Knowledge Dissemination: Contribute to knowledge dissemination sessions.
  • Patents and Innovation: Filing patents as and when applicable and mentoring other junior engineers in the team.
  • Development Life Cycle: Over-all development life cycle - design reviews to delivery of the product, identifying any process improvements.

Qualifications and Skills

A Bachelor/Masters Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with 12+ years experience, in a networking company is required.

  • Complex Packet Forwarding: Design and Develop complex packet forward features in the mentioned domains.
  • ASIC Based Models: Prior experience in ASIC based forwarding models and chassis-based systems is a big plus.
  • Microcode Development: Good experience in developing microcode in one/more of the above domains.
  • System Architecture: Good understanding of system architecture for network processor-based products.
  • Data Path Handling: Experience in data path handling, low level chip programming.
  • Programming Skills: Strong C/C++ programming & debugging skills.
  • Computer Architecture: A strong understanding of concepts related to computer architecture, data structures, and programming practices is desirable.
  • Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
  • Team Player: Good team player with right attitude.
