Kafka Administrator Job Description

As a seasoned Kafka administrator, you will play a pivotal role in deploying and maintaining production-grade Kafka clusters to ensure seamless data processing and high availability.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Deploy and upgrade Kafka clusters to guarantee optimal performance and fault tolerance.
  • Implement automation tools such as Ansible and Chef to streamline the installation and configuration process.
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues to minimize downtime and optimize Kafka performance.
  • Configure MirrorMaker for effective data replication between two data centers to ensure business continuity.
  • Deploy and manage Provectus Kafka UI on Kubernetes for real-time monitoring and management.
  • Integrate Schema Registry and deploy multiple Kafka Connectors to facilitate efficient data flow.
  • Manage ACL permissions, create topics, and implement end-to-end security with SSL/TLS for new user onboarding.
  • Design and optimize Kafka infrastructure to enhance message processing efficiency.
  • Conduct thorough performance testing to optimize partitioning, replication, and retention policies.
  • Integrate Kafka with ELK Stack and Solr for scalable data storage and analysis.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: BE, BTech, MCA, or MCS degree.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Kafka clusters, MirrorMaker, Kafka Streams, Schema Registry, Kubernetes, Docker, Ansible, Terraform, Monitoring & Logging, Programming & Scripting, Shell Scripting.

Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in Kafka administration is required.

Location: The ideal candidate should be based in Bangalore.
