Our team seeks a highly skilled CAD Designer with extensive SolidWorks expertise to develop thermoformed interior components for the railway industry.
This is a senior-level role that requires not just CAD skills but deep engineering understanding, strong customer communication, and the ability to deliver manufacturable, cost-optimized solutions while minimizing changes to tooling.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop interior thermoformed panels for trains using SolidWorks.
- Translate customer rough concepts and specifications into production-ready 3D and 2D designs.
- Adapt panel designs to changing project requirements while ensuring minimal tool modifications.
- Engineer the rear side construction of panels, including reinforcements, ventilation solutions, and mounting details.
- Work in direct exchange with European clients to align technical feasibility, cost efficiency, and manufacturability.
- Ensure all designs comply with industry standards, safety requirements, and customer specifications.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience in CAD design for thermoformed plastic components.
- SolidWorks expert level surface modeling, assemblies, tool-related adjustments.
- Strong background in railway, automotive, or transportation interiors.
- Knowledge of plastics material properties, tooling, and production processes.
- Ability to translate conceptual sketches into manufacturable designs.
