Senior Director of Product Design

About the Role

The Senior Director of Product Design will lead a talented team of product designers and set the vision for user experience across products. This role involves building and leading a team, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design Strategy - Define and drive the holistic design vision for our products to ensure a consistent, high-quality user experience.
  • Team Leadership - Lead, mentor, and grow a team of product designers.
  • Customer-Facing Influence - Engage in early client discussions to shape design strategy.
  • Design Operations - Establish and streamline design operations to improve scale, consistency, collaboration, efficiency, and quality.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to align on product strategy, goals, and roadmaps.
  • User Advocacy - Advocate for the user through research, testing, and feedback.
  • Design Systems – Maintain and establish a centralized design system.
  • Evangelism - Present design strategies and concepts to senior leadership and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, HCI, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in product design within a technology or product-centric company.
  • Proven experience leading a team of designers who design and ship AI-powered products or features.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional design skills, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of user-centered design principles.
  • Expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
  • Excellent relationship management skills working in a technical environment with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
