Job Title: Senior Data Engineering Specialist

The Senior Data Engineering Specialist is a critical role in our organization, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale data pipelines using Talend, EMR, Airflow, DataStage, Hue, and DataHub.

This position requires strong technical skills, including experience with scripting languages such as PL/SQL, Powershell, Python, and Bash. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data management principles, data governance, and security best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data into various systems.
  • Install, configure, and manage IBM DataStage and its related components, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot DataStage job performance, system resource utilization, and connectivity to data sources.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, database administrators, and other teams to enhance data quality, security, and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including runbooks, disaster recovery plans, and job run reports.
  • Provide technical support to development and data engineering teams, assisting with audit requests and creating documentation for platform setup and configurations.
Requirements:
  • Strong technical skills in data engineering, data science, and software development.
  • Experience with Talend, EMR, Airflow, DataStage, Hue, and DataHub.
  • Scripting languages such as PL/SQL, Powershell, Python, and Bash.
  • Strong understanding of data management principles, data governance, and security best practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in a 24/7 support rotation and handle urgent production issues.
