This position requires:
- Executing the engineering roadmap in alignment with company goals and objectives
- Building and scaling a lean engineering team by hiring, mentoring, and growing talent
- Driving the design, development, and delivery of secure, scalable software products that meet customer needs
- Establishing best practices in coding, testing, CI/CD, observability, and architecture to ensure quality and reliability
- Collaborating with founders, product managers, and designers to translate business needs into technical execution
- Making informed technical decisions on architecture, tools, and platform design
- Setting and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) for velocity, quality, and reliability to measure team progress
- Ensuring compliance with relevant security and regulatory standards
Within the first 12 months, your success will be measured by:
- Building and scaling an initial engineering team of 5-7 engineers
- Delivering the minimum viable product (MVP) release of our platform and setting the roadmap for enterprise readiness
- Establishing secure, automated CI/CD pipelines and monitoring baselines to ensure efficiency and quality
- Defining and documenting engineering best practices and architecture standards to promote knowledge sharing and collaboration
- Demonstrating measurable improvements in team velocity and product quality through data-driven decision making
To succeed in this role, you must have:
- A minimum of 8 years of professional software engineering experience
- At least 4+ years of hands-on development experience
- At least 2-3 years of experience in engineering management (team building, delivery)
- Proven ability to hire, mentor, and grow engineering talent to achieve business goals
- Experience delivering SaaS products, preferably in cybersecurity, cloud, or compliance
- Strong foundation in system architecture, microservices, and cloud-native design principles
- Proficiency in PostgreSQL, Redis, and scalable data modeling
- Experience with REST APIs and GraphQL
- Familiarity with AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda) or similar cloud environments
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins)
