Python Engineering Lead Position

 

  • The successful candidate will lead a team of experienced Python engineers and develop scalable software solutions using modern engineering techniques.
  • Key responsibilities include designing reusable libraries, developing Apache Beam pipelines and Databricks jobs, and creating pluggable interfaces for multiple teams to use.
  • Profiling and tuning of services is also an essential task, including end-to-end profiling, memory analysis, and CPU vs I/O optimization.
  • Instrumentation of services with Elastic APM and correlation with Splunk logs are required, as well as building dashboards and runbooks.

 

Requirements

 

  • 7+ years of experience in Python programming with strong knowledge in performance and concurrency.
  • Observability expertise, including Elastic APM instrumentation and dashboarding, and Splunk for logs and correlation.
  • Experience in implementing LLM-based solutions and supporting them in production is necessary.
  • API engineering for high-throughput integrations, resilience patterns, and secure handling of sensitive data.
  • Strong architecture/design skills, including clean interfaces, packaging shared libs, versioning, CI/CD, and testing.
  • 3+ years of experience in building large-scale data pipelines with Apache Beam and/or Spark, including hands-on Databricks experience.
  • Document processing skills, including OCR and PDF parsing.
  • LLM/SLM integration experience and prompt/eval frameworks.
  • Cloud and tooling experience, including AWS/Azure/GCP and Dataflow/Flink.
  • Security/compliance mindset, including HIPAA compliance and secrets management.
