Spatial Data and Communication Specialist

Job Title:
Spatial Data and Communication SpecialistThe primary contact for vessels, fleet superintendents, partners, and internal departments regarding the upkeep of spatial data and communication systems is responsible for implementing or monitoring actions to meet technical and regulatory needs.
This role involves collaborating with partners to ensure operational condition within budgetary constraints while working with experts to discuss optimal lifecycle of spatial data and communication systems. The specialist monitors or organizes plan surveys/health checks/maintenance of spatial data and communication systems and provides support to vessels and shore teams, including risk assessment for new situations or planned interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all duties are performed in accordance with quality, health, safety, environmental, and ethics policies;
- Propose a continuous performance improvement plan to be reported and reviewed on a regular basis;
- Monitor vessel compliance with flag and class requirements related to spatial data and communication systems;
- Feedback and challenge repair proposals from partners or vendors to ensure operational availability;
- Maintain up-to-date databases of radio and navigation systems onboard;
- Evaluate and assess regularly partners and key vendors with segment purchasers;
- Prepare annual budgets for assigned vessels in consultation with experts/superintendents/vessel managers;
- Attend vessels in ports when required.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical or electronics and telecommunications;
- 3 years' experience in support of vessels preferred;
- Good knowledge of integrated radio and navigation systems, OT networking, cybersecurity controls;
- Skills to provide best support to vessels and shore teams;
- Troubleshooting, initiative, flair to solve issues and curiosity for new technologies;
- Project management skills, competencies in various software programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Power Query;
- Fluent in English;
- Excellent communication and analytical skills, ability to work both independently and in a team-based environment.
