Job Title: Senior Bridge Assessment Engineer

The company is seeking a skilled Senior Bridge Assessment Engineer to join its team. As a senior engineer, you will be responsible for undertaking assessments of existing bridges and preparing assessment reports with expertise in Steel Composite, Pretension/Posttension structures.

  • Key responsibilities include:
  • Preparing new bridge design and strengthening design to UK standards, ensuring compliance with appropriate design and health and safety standards.
  • Carrying out design and assessment checks (Cat II or Cat III) under the guidance of a Senior or Principal Engineer.
  • Preparing or assisting others in compiling drawings, specifications, reports, and correspondence within given deadlines.

The ideal candidate will have excellent technical skills and knowledge of UK Design standards and WSP QA processes. You will work closely with the team to ensure the correct implementation of document control and QA processes are followed for issue and filing/archiving of all work carried out.

You will be expected to produce work to specified WSP design standards, suggest revisions to standards as appropriate, and ensure all relevant standards and guides are used in accordance with UK Design standards and WSP QA processes.

The role requires a proactive team worker and self-motivated learner who can adapt to the requirements of the job/role. You will participate in team meetings and learning sessions to disseminate information within the team and communicate with other teams in the company.

A key aspect of this role is to continually strive to develop and increase skills in MIDAS, LUSAS, Superstress, SAM, ARCHIE, and share knowledge with immediate colleagues and the rest of the team.
