Asset Accounting Specialist

This role involves coordinating the prompt and accurate recording of financial transactions in line with relevant requirements, policies, and procedures covering the entire asset life cycle.

  • Coordinate and accurately record financial transactions (e.g. ledger entries, journal postings, fixed asset postings) according to established guidelines.
  • Ensure timely delivery of assigned processes in asset accounting and reporting, including performance reporting.
  • Supervise open and overdue items, following up accordingly with the team.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements in all reconciliation activities.
  • Regularly reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Stay updated on accounting standards and regulations relevant to asset accounting practices.
  • Familiarize yourself with systems used to record accounts to ensure compliance with accounting requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with partners and colleagues in different locations and time zones to resolve or raise difficult issues.
  • Timely liaise with seniors for control checks and their effectiveness.
  • Communicate effectively to raise or gain transparency for sophisticated and ad-hoc queries from partner/embedded finance teams.
  • Participate in internal and external audits when required.
Essential Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Recognized professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, CPA, CIMA).
  • Able to meet month-end close and other deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good organizational skills – attention to detail.
  • Action-oriented work ethic, teamwork, and proven track record of value added.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in general and/or financial accounting, with 1 year in Fixed Asset Accounting.
Required Criteria
  • English language competency.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with SAP.
Preferred Criteria
  • Shared service centre experience.
  • General accounting experience.
