Cloud Infrastructure Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Infrastructure Specialist to manage and optimize our data platform. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Snowflake administration, database management, performance tuning, security, and automation.

  • Snowflake Administration: Manage Snowflake accounts, users, roles, and permissions following RBAC principles.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor query performance, optimize warehouses, and tune workloads to ensure efficient execution.
  • Data Management: Oversee databases, schemas, tables, and data pipelines in Snowflake.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement security best practices including encryption, data masking, network policies, and audit logging.
  • Automation: Develop scripts for monitoring, alerting, and automating administrative tasks (SQL, Python, PowerShell, etc.).
  • Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Track warehouse utilization, storage, and query performance; identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
  • Cost Optimization: Manage compute and storage costs by monitoring consumption and implementing optimization strategies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Strong knowledge of Snowflake features: Virtual Warehouses, Clustering, Time Travel, Data Sharing, Resource Monitors, Tasks, Streams.
  • Proficiency in SQL and scripting (Python, Shell, PowerShell).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and integrations.
  • Knowledge of data security & governance practices (RBAC, PII handling, compliance frameworks).
  • Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • SnowPro Core or SnowPro Advanced certification.
  • Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or other IaC tools.
  • Familiarity with Datadog, Splunk, or other monitoring tools.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent collaboration skills to work across teams.

This role requires strong technical skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
