Leadership Opportunity: Internal Audit Expert

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our internal audit function, driving strategic risk management and operational excellence.

  1. Develop a comprehensive annual audit plan aligned with business objectives and risk assessment.
  2. Engage vendors for program activities execution, ensuring timely delivery and stakeholder communication.
  3. Execute the internal audit plan, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
  4. Lead functional audits, applying expertise in audit planning, execution, and reporting.
  5. Monitor and report on open internal audit observations, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  6. Assess the effectiveness of management remediation efforts through follow-up audits.
  7. Establish and maintain robust internal audit standards, protocols, and documentation requirements.
  8. Create an audit repository with standardized tools, checklists, and templates.
  9. Develop and maintain audit support tools to enhance process quality and efficiency.
  10. Collaborate with Risk Management to identify and assess entity-level risks.
  11. Contribute to emerging risk identification and assessment programs during internal audit execution.
  12. Calibrate internal audit procedures based on risk mitigation strategies and management initiatives.
Requirements
  • 10-15 years of experience in implementing, delivering, and embedding risk management at strategic and operational levels.
  • Proven experience undertaking audits across diverse organizational areas.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to interface and influence all management levels.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Well-equipped with knowledge/skills in corporate governance, internal audit & risk management domains.
Key Qualifications
  • Chartered Accountant
  • CIA, CISA, CWA (desired)
