Avery Dennison Smartrac Contract Specialist Job Summary

Avery Dennison Smartrac is seeking a highly skilled Contract Specialist to support the Legal Operations function in the implementation and ongoing governance of the Global Contract Operations Program and Contract Lifecycle Management Platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain a best-in-class Global Contract Operations Program for the law department.
  • Leverage best practices for contract lifecycle management, ensuring appropriate controls and documentation are in place and adhered to.
  • Work closely with law department team members, IT business partners, and business stakeholders to understand and refine requirements, objectives, and processes to drive strategic solutions.
  • Effectively work autonomously and collaboratively to design and implement both tactical and project-related deliverables.
  • Complete Ironclad CLM Administrator training for Ironclad platform management if not already attained.
  • Lead contract template rationalization and harmonization efforts.
  • Establish and ensure adherence to a template governance process, as well as maintain the inventory of law department-approved templates and manage the configuration of those templates, workflows, clauses, reports, and notifications on the Ironclad CLM platform.
  • Build and maintain knowledge of critical upstream/downstream systems and workflows.
  • Build for scale by designing holistically, with a focus on flexibility and maintainability.
  • Participate in and help prepare User Acceptance Testing (UAT) test scripts and revise based on user scenarios.
  • Log UAT test results and track issues through resolution.
  • Oversight of the Ironclad CLM platform to ensure fully executed contracts are being stored in the CLM platform.
  • Manage users and groups and their associated permissions and settings.
  • Drive adoption and effective use of the Ironclad CLM platform.
  • Development of change management materials, including developing and delivering presentations and training.
  • Conduct periodic audits to ensure the platform is being used as intended and as a quality assurance control to ensure the accuracy of the metadata.
  • Project management of efforts to scale the Ironclad platform's capabilities and user base.
  • Work closely with other functions and vendors to help guide integrations when needed.
  • Seek ways to drive process efficiencies and elevate the law department's service delivery model.
  • Support other legal operations initiatives and act as a backup when another team member is out of office or needs support.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; LLB degree from a reputable university in India.
  • 3-5 years of experience working in a Corporate Law Department.
  • 3 years of experience with CLM/legal technology solutions.
  • Technical experience in any of the following roles: system administration/configuration, operations (general or legal), tech operations, solutions management in the legal ecosystem.
  • Relentless curiosity to understand the root cause of technical issues and identify remediation steps to prevent recurrences.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to independently manage and prioritize workload and projects.
  • Strong team ethic and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Solutions-focused and motivated to unblock the team and stakeholders.
  • Strong oral and written communication and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and cultivate outstanding client and colleague relationships.
  • Willingness to accept increased responsibilities and meet the demands of the law department in a professional manner, whether working independently or as part of a team; a proactive approach, with the ability to adjust to frequent change.
  • Must have experience in handling highly confidential matters.
  • Excellent analytical, time-management, organizational, and project-management skills, as well as strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Word/Office and Excel; experience with the Google business suite (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets) preferred.
