Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Java Developer to join our Core Services team at Expeditors. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing reliable, maintainable, and efficient Java code using Spring and Hibernate frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop high-quality Java code using Spring and Hibernate frameworks
  • Participate in peer-to-peer design and code reviews to ensure coding standards and best practices are met
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize business requirements and technical debt
  • Collaborate with team members to develop and maintain automated testing and deployment processes
  • Implement continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines using Jenkins, Kubernetes, and Terraform
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in software development using Java, Spring, and Hibernate
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in DevSecOps, CI/CD, and automation management
  • Excellent Java coding abilities and experience in declarative environment management with Terraform or Bicep
  • Strong understanding of design for scalability, performance, security, and reliability
  • Experience in assessing organizational security needs and implementing strategies to mitigate them
  • Comfortable and effective at communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Spring Boot and ORM tools like Hibernate
  • Ability to write Shell/Python scripts and Ansible playbooks
  • Experience working within a SAFe/Agile development framework
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, such as HashiCorp Terraform
  • Experience with secret management software, such as HashiCorp Vault

This role reports to the Team Manager, Information Services
