Job Summary

eJAmerica is seeking a skilled Technical Server Administrator to join our team. This role involves providing high-level support for Windows-based servers, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and availability.

About the Role

The Technical Server Administrator will be responsible for managing and troubleshooting server issues, including hardware, operating system, and application-related problems. You will also administer and support Azure Active Directory (Azure AD), including identity and access management, group policies, and role-based access control.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and troubleshoot server issues, including hardware, operating system, and application-related problems.
  • Administer and support Azure Active Directory (Azure AD), including identity and access management, group policies, and role-based access control.
  • Perform server patching, updates, and maintenance tasks to ensure compliance with security standards.
  • Monitor server performance and proactively address potential issues using appropriate tools and methodologies.
  • Configure and maintain server backups, disaster recovery solutions, and failover mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address escalated issues and implement solutions for complex problems.
  • Document incidents, resolutions, and operational procedures to ensure knowledge transfer and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in capacity planning, system upgrades, and server migrations to meet business needs.

Requirements

  • Windows Server Administration: Expertise in managing and troubleshooting Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022).
  • Azure Active Directory (Azure AD): Proficiency in configuring and managing Azure AD, identity synchronization, and integration with on-premises AD.
  • Server Support (L2 & L3): Hands-on experience in diagnosing and resolving escalated server and system-related issues.
  • System Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with tools such as Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM), SolarWinds, or equivalent.
  • Backup and Recovery: Experience with backup solutions like Veeam, CommVault, or Azure Backup.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and hybrid environments.
  • Scripting experience (PowerShell or Bash) for automation and task optimization.
  • Understanding of ITIL processes for incident, problem, and change management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration and end-user support.

Estimated Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000 per annum
