Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Freight Electrification Lead to spearhead our initiative in transitioning India's Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs) to electric freight. This involves leading the strategic push for truck electrification, strengthening charging infrastructure, and influencing policy through multi-stakeholder collaboration.

The role requires developing and updating the overall vision, long-term goals, and success metrics for the initiative, as well as mapping the full ecosystem—industry, financiers, think-tanks, civil society—and identifying gaps, bringing new perspectives, and onboarding new stakeholders.

You will conduct quarterly/bi-annual strategy reviews; set priorities for thematic tracks and adjust course as evidence emerges, and sequence pilots, policy work, and ecosystem milestones to create a coherent delivery roadmap.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for Freight Electrification, aligning with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Ecosystem Mapping: Map the full ecosystem of industry, financiers, think-tanks, civil society, and identify gaps, opportunities, and challenges.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and manage senior stakeholder relationships across government, industry, and civil society, fostering alignment and shared ownership.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Leadership Experience: Extensive consulting & leadership experience with 14–16 years of experience across consulting firms, corporates, social enterprises, and global foundations.
  • Academic Background: Academic & domain expertise with a Master's degree in one of climate change, development studies, or public policy.
  • Policymaking Influence: Policymaking & ecosystem influence with demonstrated ability to shape policy frameworks and lead advisory projects.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strategic thinking & innovation with skilled problem-solving, innovative strategy design, and driving initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
