Senior Academic Leader in Computer Science and IT

The Senior Academic Leader will play a key role in driving innovation, strategic planning, and academic excellence within the Computer Science and IT department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategic plans that align with institutional goals.
  • Foster innovative teaching, learning, and research initiatives in emerging areas of Computer Science and IT.
  • Lead the development of new academic programs and research initiatives that promote academic excellence and community engagement.

Academic and Research Oversight:

  • Oversee curriculum design, course development, and accreditation processes to ensure high-quality academic programs.
  • Promote cutting-edge research and secure funding through grants and industry collaboration.
  • Support faculty in scholarly activities and professional development to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Administrative and Operational Management:

  • Manage departmental resources, budgeting, and policy implementation to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Recruit, evaluate, and mentor faculty and staff to foster a positive and productive work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional, national, and international standards to maintain academic integrity.

Collaboration and External Engagement:

  • Build strategic partnerships with industry, government agencies, and academic institutions to enhance research collaborations and student opportunities.
  • Represent the department at national and international forums and conferences to showcase academic achievements.
  • Drive initiatives related to internships, placements, and alumni engagement to strengthen community ties.

Technology and Infrastructure:

  • Oversee the implementation and management of IT infrastructure used in teaching and research to support academic excellence.
  • Ensure cybersecurity, data governance, and tech-enabled learning environments to safeguard academic integrity.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of academic or industry experience, with at least 5 in leadership roles.
  • 5 publications in Scopus-indexed journals.
  • 2 guided students completed under supervision.
  • Proven track record of academic excellence, research, and/or innovation in CSIT.
  • Experience in managing interdisciplinary teams and large-scale projects.
  • Strong understanding of emerging technologies (AI, Cloud, Cybersecurity, Data Science, etc.).
