Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Principal Millwork Designer to join our team. As a key member of our design department, you will be responsible for creating detailed designs and plans for custom millwork projects.

About the Role:

  • Designing Mechanical Millwork Projects: You will create detailed designs for casework, cabinetry, joinery techniques, and custom woodwork, ensuring strong technical skills and collaboration with architects, engineers, and clients.
  • Collaboration and Design Development: You will work with architects, engineers, and project managers to develop accurate mechanical millwork designs.
  • CAD Software Expertise: You will use CAD software to create 3D models and generate 2D drawings, adhering to industry standards and client specifications.
  • Site Visits and Design Development: You will conduct site visits to gather information needed for design development.
  • Material Selection and Bills of Materials: You will prepare material and hardware selection and produce accurate bills of materials.
  • Design Optimization: You will optimize designs for functionality, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to project requirements.
  • Production Documents: You will create production documents, including shop drawings, fabrication plans, and installation instructions.
  • Design Review and Revision: You will review and modify designs based on feedback from team members, clients, and quality control inspections.
  • Team Collaboration: You will collaborate with the production team to address design-related issues during fabrication and installation.
  • Industry Trends and Emerging Technologies: You will stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and new materials to enhance design capabilities.

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • AutoCAD Expertise: Proficient in AutoCAD and able to work on architectural and furniture drawings.
  • Panel Optimization and Production Process Management: Hands-on experience in panel optimization and production process management.
  • SAP, ERP Tools, and Furniture Design Software: Strong working knowledge of SAP, ERP tools, and 2020 Design Software for furniture design.
