ISO 27001 Lead Auditor Role Overview

The ISO 27001 Lead Auditor will be responsible for planning, executing, and reporting Information Security Management System (ISMS) audits in accordance with ISO/IEC 27001 standards. The role demands a detail-oriented professional with proven experience in auditing, risk assessment, and compliance, ensuring clients' adherence to international security standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, lead, and conduct ISO 27001 certification and surveillance audits for clients.
  • Evaluate ISMS policies, procedures, and controls against ISO 27001 requirements.
  • Identify gaps, risks, and non-conformities, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Prepare comprehensive audit reports with clear findings and improvement recommendations.
  • Assist clients in maintaining compliance and continual improvement of ISMS.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment with regulatory and contractual requirements.
  • Provide training and awareness sessions on ISO 27001 requirements when required.
  • Stay updated with evolving information security standards, regulations, and industry best practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or equivalent.
  • Certified ISO 27001 Lead Auditor (mandatory).
  • 3–5 years of experience in conducting ISO 27001 audits and assessments.
  • Strong knowledge of information security risk management, controls, and governance frameworks.
  • Excellent understanding of ISMS documentation, implementation, and continual improvement.
  • Strong analytical, report writing, and communication skills.
