Chief Synthetic Chemist

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented Synthetic Chemist to join our dynamic team. We are seeking a highly skilled professional to lead the design and execution of synthetic routes for drug discovery programs.

• We are looking for an experienced organic chemist with expertise in multistep synthesis, reaction optimization, and compound isolation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

1. Designing and executing synthetic routes to prepare small molecules for drug discovery programs.
2. Tracking SAR and optimizing potency, selectivity, and properties of small molecules for research programs.
3. Performing purification and structural characterization of compounds.
4. Troubleshooting synthetic problems and optimizing reaction conditions.
5. Mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to technical reports.
6. Collaborating with analytical teams as needed.
7. Providing input on intellectual property activities.

To be considered for this position, you must have:

• A M.Sc. or PhD in Organic Chemistry or a closely related field.
• Hands-on experience in working on bench, preferably in an industry.
• Expertise in chromatography (TLC, column, flash), spectroscopic analysis (NMR, LC-MS, HPLC), and purification techniques (recrystallization, precipitation, others).
• High level of creativity and productivity with strong synthetic chemistry problem-solving skills.
• Effective oral and scientific/technical writing communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Commitment to lab safety and adherence to safety protocols.
• Familiarity with reaction databases (e.g., Reaxys, SciFinder).
• Proficiency using MS Office applications.
