About the Position

As an experienced Investigator, you will conduct in-depth investigations into corporate fraud, misconduct, compliance violations, security breaches, or other incidents globally and in India.

You will oversee all aspects of the investigation process, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards, and deliver actionable findings and recommendations to senior management or relevant stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough investigations by ensuring adherence to prescribed methodologies and proper planning.
  • Gather all relevant evidence related to an investigation, scrutinize it, make meaningful observations/conclusions, and provide appropriate recommendations.
  • Ensure witnesses/suspects/victims are interviewed, and written statements obtained when necessary.
  • Compile investigation reports as per the prescribed methodology, containing the findings of investigations.
  • Ensure each investigation has an accurate, value-adding conclusion for the type of investigation conducted.
  • Make meaningful recommendations based on the investigation type, including system/people/process failures or internal/external threats.
  • Assist reporting managers/HoDs and other teams (e.g., HR) with relevant findings/documentation for disciplinary processes.
  • Ensure each investigation is concluded within the prescribed time limits.
  • Inform management about suggestions/proposals to enhance investigative methodology/operating procedures.
  • Collect timely intelligence to avert fraud and security incidents.
Interviews and Interrogations
  • Conduct interviews with relevant individuals, both employees and external parties.
  • Maintain objectivity and professionalism during interviews.
  • Document findings accurately and ethically.
Case Management
  • Maintain case files and central investigations database to operational standards.
  • Attend progress meetings with HoD and concerned management teams.
  • Provide credible information for MIS produced by Investigation team.
  • Prepare and submit whistle-blowing reports to the Head of Department, including summary slides for Audit Committee presentations.
  • Support HR and Risk Management teams in Fraud Awareness training and sensitization campaigns.
Risk Identification and Awareness
  • Escalate identified risks/emerging risks to line management upon discovery.
  • Participate in awareness initiatives for high-risk business units.
Stakeholder Management
  • Develop/maintain relationships with internal/external stakeholders for synergies/teamwork.
  • Interact with industry counterparts to understand threats/risks/share important information on current frauds/fraudsters.
  • Perform other duties assigned by HoD Audit, Risk & Investigation.
Qualification Requirements
  • Academics: Chartered Accountant, MBA (Finance/Risk Management).
  • Professional: Hold professional qualifications in relevant fields (e.g., CFE).
  • Desired work experience: 6-10 years of investigatory procedures and practice.
  • Relevant certifications (Certified Fraud Examiner, Certified Professional Investigator) are a plus.
  • Preferred experience in Pharma or Big 4 (Investigation) or similar industries.
  • Experience in handling Hot-line/Integrity & Ethics lines.
  • Expertise in investigation procedures/techniques along with relevant legal implications.
  • Strong analytical/critical-thinking skills.
  • Leadership/team management skills.
  • Excellent communication interpersonal skills.
