Our team is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Chemist II to join our Enterprise Capabilities unit in Bengaluru, India. This role offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement with a mix of in-office and remote work schedules.

The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and validating laboratory data packages in accordance with USEPA guidelines, ensuring compliance with published analytical methods and usability of environmental data. They will also be tasked with uploading laboratory analytical data to specific client and regulatory databases, managing data in relational database systems like EarthSoft EQuIS, Locus EIM, MS Access, or other environment databases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and validate laboratory data packages to ensure compliance with published analytical methods and usability of environmental data.
  • Upload laboratory analytical data to specific client and regulatory databases.
  • Manage data in relational database systems like EarthSoft EQuIS, Locus EIM, MS Access, or other environment databases.
  • Prepare technical memoranda and white papers to be included in client deliverables.
  • Implement innovation and automation tools produced by the team.
  • Task management: Manage workloads assigned by chemistry staff within stipulated time. Should be flexible with working hours to support other geographical regions.
  • Proficient in Level 2 and 3 data validation. Experience in Level 4 validation is a value add for this role, but not mandatory.
  • The project chemist will support quality assurance/quality control, data management, data analysis, and various analytical chemistry aspects of environmental investigations for our clients.
  • The candidate will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, developing their technical skills as a chemist while exploring new interests as well.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Environmental Science, or another related discipline.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in a Quality control laboratory and or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education.
  • The ideal candidate will be able to understand requests from environmental subject matter experts.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of environmental chemistry principles.
  • Knowledge of analytical chemistry principles (i.e., quality assurance and quality control).
  • Familiarity with data validation, data review, field screening, data management, and sampling plans.
  • Experience using relational databases such as EQuIS or Microsoft Access.
  • Should be proficient in data validation and understand the valid qualifiers and reason codes.
  • Knowledge or experience with the analytical challenges presented by per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).
  • Experience performing chemical analysis (Quality control) in an academic or commercial setting.
