Senior Functional Consultant Job Overview

The Senior Functional Consultant is a seasoned expert in SAP Sales and Distribution (SD) with extensive experience, responsible for spearheading and overseeing implementation, upgrade, and enhancement projects. This role demands profound knowledge of SAP SD processes such as order management, pricing, billing, and invoicing, along with robust leadership and communication skills. The consultant will ensure seamless integration with other SAP modules, conduct thorough gap analyses, manage and mentor teams, provide training, and resolve complex issues.

  • Lead and manage SAP SD implementation, upgrade, and enhancement projects to drive business growth and efficiency.
  • Provide authoritative functional expertise in SAP SD processes, including order-to-cash, billing, invoicing, pricing, and renewals.
  • Develop and maintain detailed functional specifications, business process designs, and solution blueprints to ensure project success.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to guarantee smooth integration between SD and other SAP modules.
  • Conduct thorough gap analysis and provide innovative solutions to meet evolving business requirements.
  • Lead configuration and customization efforts in the SAP SD module to optimize performance.
  • Manage and mentor junior team members, providing guidance and support to foster their growth and development.
  • Conduct comprehensive user training sessions and create documentation for end-users to ensure effective adoption.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to SAP SD processes to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • SAP SD certification is highly desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge of SAP SD processes, including order management, pricing, billing, and invoicing.
  • Strong understanding of integration points between SD and other SAP modules (MM, FI, PP, etc.).
  • Experience in SAP SD configuration, customization, and ABAP development.
  • Proficiency in creating functional specifications and technical design documents.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience in managing client relationships and stakeholder expectations.
